In depth

Verdict

Pivotalia is very consistent and a first-time visor may just eek out that little bit extra to snare his first win so he gets our vote ahead of another frustrating maiden Six Of Hearts and Antrim Rose. Plenty of headgear on show for the first time and it may spark some improvement in several runners, however it is the selection, Pivotalia, who has the least improvement to find. Walter Swinburn's stays well and having raced somewhat lazily last time out, a sharper display here should see him in the money. Antrim Rose should be respected as he ran well last time out however he doesn't really possess a turn of foot and will need a strong gallop if he is to prevail. Halkerston enters the realm of handicaps with a lowly mark of 62; that is fair on what he has shown so far but don't be surprised if we see a better performance today. Six Of Hearts keeps on finding at least one too good, so of more interest may be King Zeal who is unexposed. At a price Auntie Mame could go well on her handicap debut, however it is Pivotalia who is fancied to make it ninth time lucky.
