Verdict

Disappointingly just the four runners line up for this novices' chase and although Any Currency has the benefit of already having raced this season and run well when third behind Shanballa at Cartmel, it is hard to get away from PRIDE OF DULCOTE, who gets the verdict ahead of Captain Americo. Andrew Turnell's gelding showed progressive form over hurdles last season with good wins at Wincanton and Kempton in February off marks of 115 and 123 and he has to be respected on his chasing debut over a trip that should suit. Iphar does at least have some form in point-to-points but is hard to recommend for anything other than minor place money and it is Pride of Dulcote that looks the one to beat. Paul Nicholls has his team in good form now that some of his better runners are coming out and the son of Kadalko, who found just Weapon's Amnesty too good in the Spa Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham last season after wins at Chepstow and Wincanton (twice), should take all the beating if able to translate hurdles form to fences.
