Verdict

FIVETWOEIGHT looked all over the winner at Kempton on his return from an absence before being reeled in late on. He has clearly had his issues as he makes just an eighth start for the Chapple-Hyam team in three seasons but makes plenty of appeal off his current mark and may well have more to offer. Enzo's Lad is in good heart at present and should give a solid account along with Miracle Works, a close Kempton second last time and going the right way. However, the main danger should come from the ex-Aidan O'Brien inmate Mount Wellington as he's bounced back well after a low-key start to the current Turf campaign and recent placed efforts at Newmarket bring him bang into contention, especially as he'll not be inconvenienced by further softening of the ground.
