Several hold chances in a wide open sprint. The unexposed Wyatt Earp heads our shortlist, with Balakiref, Currency and Loyal Tycoon just bubbling under as the main dangers. Loyal Tycoon has been a good servant to several yards over the years and is back on winning mark. However, he has been frustratingly short of the mark of late and needs everything to drop just right for him. Similar comments apply to Balakiref, who has the ability to figure strongly in a race like this and cannot confidently be ruled out. The ground should be too his liking and it will be noteworthy if he attracts interest from the betting ring. Currency turned back the clock when winning at Warwick last month and it will be no surprise to see him in the thick of the action while he is in such good heart. Another to bear in mind is Sir Desmond, whose best form brings him right into the argument. Johnny Murtagh has ridden him to good effect in the past and the partnership represent fair value for each-way punters at the likely prices. However, Wyatt Earp still has bags of scope for improvement and, with his yard excelling with their sprinters this season, the Richard Fahey-trained gelding just edges the nomination in a very tricky race.
