Verdict

Moidore had the misfortune of coming up against the well-handicapped Well Sharp on his most recent visit to York and John Quinn's four-year-old confirmed that positive impression when sixth in the Northumberland Plate. All The Aces won't mind if the rain arrives and having been Listed class in the past, he has that touch of class that others may lack. Crackentorp invariably runs well here but he's never won over the distance so we'll look at GABRIAL'S STAR as an alternative. Marwan Koukash has sent the four-year-old to Ian Williams in an attempt to freshen him up, and having gone off as a favourite for a similar contest on the Knavesmire last September, he tries again off a 6lb lower mark. Dr Irv has been mopping up in lesser grade races and gets to try his hand against better opposition while Flashman returns to two miles having caught the eye over shorter at Newmarket.
