We've picked out some of the best tries from the Super Rugby quarter-finals weekend

All the best tries from the Super Rugby quarter-finals as the Highlanders, Hurricanes, Lions and Chiefs all progressed.

It was a try festival in the southern hemisphere over the weekend, though considerably less so in Canberra on Friday as the Highlanders booked their place in the semi-finals with a 15-9 win over the Brumbies. In poor conditions, the defending champions scored two tries to nil with Waisake Naholo and Liam Squire crossing the whitewash.

The Hurricanes, meanwhile, recorded a 41-0 thrashing of the Sharks in Wellington to march confidently into the next stage of the competition. The conditions at Westpac Stadium on Saturday were atrocious, but the home side were undeterred as they ran in six tries against a traditionally strong Sharks defence.

Later on the Lions stunned the Crusaders to come away 42-25 winners in Johannesburg. Tries from flying winger Courtnall Skosan and centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg inside the opening seven minutes laid the platform for a stunning victory for the Lions as they amassed their highest ever points tally against the New Zealanders.

In the final game of the weekend, the Chiefs secured a semi-final spot with a crushing 60-21 win over the Stormers. The Waikato side now travel home to meet the top-ranked Hurricanes in Wellington next weekend, with the Lions hosting the Highlanders in the other semi-final in Johannesburg.
