Michael Cheika delays naming Australia side for New Zealand Test

Michael Cheika has delayed naming his side for Saturday's Test as Australia aim to deny New Zealand a record win.

Test line-ups are customarily named on Thursdays ahead of Saturday matches, but Cheika has chosen to hold back his selection ahead of the meeting, live on Sky Sports.

An Aussie defeat in Auckland would give the All Blacks a clean sweep of Bledisloe Cup wins this year and a new mark of 18 consecutive Test victories.

The Wallabies have not beaten New Zealand in Auckland since 1986, and home coach Steve Hansen was confident enough to have a go at predicting the Australia line-up when he spoke to the media on Thursday.

Hansen suggested Cheika might drop New Zealand-born Quade Cooper and start Bernard Foley at fly-half, but he will have to wait until the eve of the game for confirmation.

Cheika has David Pocock available after injury, but scrum-half Will Genia has returned to Stade Francais.

New Zealand comfortably won both Rugby Championship meetings between the sides in August with scores of 42-8 and 29-9.
