Glasgow and Scotland back Peter Horne looks certain to miss the Six Nations after being ruled out for up to four months with knee and ankle injuries.

Club and country team-mate Rory Hughes could also miss the start of the competition after being told he needs up to two months out because of knee injury.

Both were carried off on stretchers during Glasgow's narrow Guinness PRO12 defeat by Munster last Friday night.

A Warriors statement read: "Stand-off Horne sustained knee and ankle injuries and his ankle requires surgical repair at BMI Ross Hall Hospital. He is expected to be out of action for up to 16 weeks.
