Ref 'sin bins' ball boy

Referee Nigel Owens showed a sense of humour after being hit by a ball during Leinster's win over Scarlets.

Scarlets' fans did not have much to smile about as they watched Leinster turn up the heat and crush their side 45-9 in the PRO12 clash on Saturday.

Owens certainly brought a smile to everyone's face in the 75th minute, though, when a ball boy through a ball back into play which hit the Welsh official on the back of the head; prompting the referee to jokingly show the youngster a yellow card.

After the game, Owens took to social media to try and track the ball boy down.

The win takes Leinster two points clear of the Ospreys, who had been top for 24 hours following Friday's victory in Edinburgh, and they have now won their last 22 home games in the PRO12, since drawing 34-34 with Glasgow Warriors almost two years ago.
