England and British & Irish Lions fly-half Owen Farrell has signed a five-year contract extension with Saracens.

The 25-year-old outside-half has made 152 appearances for Saracens since making his debut in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2008, and the new deal will see him remain at the club until 2022.

Farrell has won three Premiership titles and back-to-back Champions Cups in north London, and said: "It's an opportunity to hopefully grow with this group again for the next few years; to get better and improve on what we've already done.

"This team's got a long way to go still. To see how far we can take it is exciting."

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Owen has developed into one of the leading players in world rugby since he graduated from the Saracens academy.
