Tim Visser, Willem Nel and Tim Swinson recalled to Scotland squad preparing to face England

Scotland coach Gregor Townsend has made six changes to his squad for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash with England at Murrayfield.

Harlequins wing Tim Visser and Gloucester centre Matt Scott join the backs, while prop Willem Nel, uncapped hooker James Malcolm, Sale back-row Josh Strauss and Glasgow lock Tim Swinson have been added to Townsend's options in the pack.

Visser and Scott have not featured since the summer tour of Australia and Fiji, while Nel is back after recovering from a broken arm and Swinson only returned to club action on Friday after a hand problem.

Saracens centre Duncan Taylor (head) and Toulouse lock Richie Gray (calf) have been released as they are yet to recover from their injuries, while Magnus Bradbury, Nathan Fowles, Murray McCallum and D'arcy Rae drop out of the squad.

Glasgow's Lee Jones and Neil Cochrane of Edinburgh will remain with their clubs to complete the graduated return to play protocols after sustaining head injuries at the weekend.

Uncapped Edinburgh duo Charlie Shiel and Darcy Graham have also been invited to train with the squad on Monday and Tuesday.

Scotland bounced back from a heavy defeat in Wales to beat France 32-26 at Murrayfield in their second match in the championship, while England have beaten Italy and Wales.
