England head coach Eddie Jones has opened the door for a Test recall for Danny Cipriani, saying he is watching the Wasps fly-half "all the time".
The 30-year-old has not played for his country for nearly three years, but his form has helped Wasps to third place in the Aviva Premiership, and with it a place in the play-offs.
Despite not previously favouring the 14-cap Cipriani, Jones has now suggested he could be in line for a recall for England's squad to tour South Africa this summer - live on Sky Sports.
Jones - who names his squad on Thursday - said: "We're looking at him all the time.
"He's always been around the periphery of the squad and if we feel he can add value to the squad, we'll pick him. If we feel he can't, then we won't.
"He's an option for us. There's a number of other players - young Marcus Smith from Harlequins.
"We just need to weigh up, do we go for a more experienced guy or do we take a younger guy?"
Cipriani is leaving Wasps this summer, and the identity of his new club is likely to become clearer when Jones names his squad for the three Tests in South Africa next month.
The former Sale back is known to be wanted by several Premiership sides, and he will have to move to another English side if he wants a Test future due to the RFU's rule prohibiting Jones from picking non-domestic based players.
However, if Cipriani is left out of Jones's squad, Sky Sports News understands a move to France's Top 14 could be on the cards as he is wanted by both Stade Francais and Perpignan.
