2015 in numbers: A review of the year in Rugby Union

We take a look at the key numbers from the world of Rugby Union over the past 12 months...

- The number of tests lost by Richie McCaw on home soil in his All Blacks career.

8 - The number of days Eddie Jones spent in his role as the Stormers' head coach.

15 different centre partnerships were used by Stuart Lancaster during his tenure as England head coach. Brad Barritt and Manu Tuilagi were the most used pairing during this time, joining forced on 11 occasions. In Lancaster's final match in charge he used his 15th and final different combination in midfield with Owen Farrell and Henry Slade pulling on the 12 and 13 jerseys against Uruguay.

21 appearances were made by cross-code convert Sam Burgess for Bath before his switch back to Rugby League and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

54 - The amount of weeks Dylan Hartley has been banned over the course of his professional career. He was handed a massive 26-week ban for eye-gouging in 2007, an 11-week suspension for verbally abusing referee Wayne Barnes during the 2013 Premiership final against Leicester and most recently a four-week ban for headbutting.

184 - The number of points Ian Keatley gathered for Munster last season. His points tally came mainly through his deadly boot kicking 34 conversions and 37 penalties with just the one try.

366 metres have been made by Taqele Naiyaravoro so far in this season's Champions Cup. Glasgow Warriors' powerhouse winger has reached the tally playing just 187 minutes, the least of any player in the top 8 metres made.

597 points have been amassed by English teams so far in the Champions Cup, where Aviva Premiership clubs currently top three out of the five pools.

2,525 - The total number of points amassed so far by the Premiership's all-time leading points scorer Charlie Hodgson. The Saracens and former Sale Sharks fly-half has announced his retirement from the game but not before he reached the remarkable milestone of 2,500 points extending his lead over nearest rival Andy Goode to 297 points.

2,477,875 people attended a Rugby World Cup match in 2015, making it the most attended tournament Rugby World Cup to date.
