Sale Sharks fly-half Danny Cipriani has been charged with drink-driving, a police statement has confirmed.
The Sale Sharks fly-half was unhurt in a collision between his Mercedes and a Toyota in the Chelsea area of west London shortly after 5am on June 1.
The 28-year-old was given a breath test and taken to a west London police station before being released on bail.
Scotland Yard confirmed he was charged on Thursday and will appear at West London Magistrates' Court on December 10.
A police statement said: "Danny Cipriani, 28, of Grand Drive, SW20 has today, Thursday, November 12, been charged with a drink-drive offence, namely driving a motor vehicle with alcohol above the legal limit.
"He will appear on bail at West London Magistrates' Court on Thursday, December 10."
Cipriani, who has won 14 caps for England, missed out on selection for his country's World Cup squad despite playing in warm up matches.
He started his career with London Wasps and returned to English rugby with Sale in 2012 after a spell with the Melbourne Rebels.
