Billy Vunipola says his knee operation went well and is targeting his England return

Saracens No 8 Billy Vunipola says his knee operation went well and is already targeting his England return.

The younger of the two Vunipola brothers suffered a torn cartilage during England's 27-14 victory over Argentina at Twickenham ruling him out of action for three months.

He had surgery the next day and Eddie Jones is expected to be without his powerhouse No 8 as his England side look to retain their Six Nations crown, starting on February 4.

Despite having to watch on as his club side Saracens dismantled Sale Sharks in the Champions Cup, Vunipola was upbeat and already eyeing a return to action with a possible British and Irish Lions tour on the horizon for the 24-year-old.

"I think for every player in the British Isles it is the dream to make the Lions but for me it is all about focusing on trying to get back and trying to get into Saracens first and foremost, hopefully push on for England and see where it goes from there," he said.
