Scotland head coach Vern Cotter will put out a near first-choice line-up as he looks to avoid becoming the second side to slip up against Rugby World Cup shock troops Japan.
Scrum-half Greig Laidlaw will skipper the Dark Blues at Gloucester's Kingsholm Stadium on Wednesday in the Scots' Pool B opener.
And Cotter has taken few risks ahead of facing a Japan side still buzzing from their stunning 34-32 win over South Africa on Saturday.
The sides have met on four previous Test-capped occasions - twice in the World Cup - with the Scots coming out on top each time; the most recent of which being a 42-17 autumn win at Murrayfield two years ago.
Since then though, Japan have gone on a run of 11 straight wins, culminating in their incredible 34-32 win over the mighty Springboks in Brighton on Saturday.
Cotter said: "We've prepared well for what will be a very tough Test against a powerful and fit Japanese team, who like to play a high-tempo game.
"They [Japan] will have taken a lot of confidence from their opening win over South Africa however that doesn't change our approach to this game or the pool.
"The priority for us to ensure that we get our jobs right with accuracy, and impose ourselves on the game."
Laidlaw will partner Finn Russell in the halves, with Matt Scott and Mark Bennett outside them in midfield. Full-back Stuart Hogg and wings Sean Lamont and Tommy Seymour complete the back division.
Edinburgh provide the front row of Alasdair Dickinson, Ross Ford and Willem Nel.
Grant Gilchrist will partner Jonny Gray in the second-row, with Ryan Wilson, John Hardie and No 8 David Denton named as the starting loose forwards.
