Byron McGuigan has been ruled out of Scotland's Six Nations match against France with a hamstring injury.
The wing has returned to Sale for treatment after picking up the injury during the second half of Scotland's 34-7 defeat by Wales on Saturday.
Sean Maitland, who started on the bench against Wales, is the leading candidate to replace McGuigan in Scotland's starting line-up.
Lee Jones of Glasgow Warriors and Blair Kinghorn of Edinburgh headline the list of options to come into the match-day squad as back-three cover.
The Scottish Rugby Union also confirmed that lock Richie Gray (calf) and centre Duncan Taylor (head) have still not shaken off injuries and will not join up with the squad ahead of Sunday's game at Murrayfield.
Glasgow Warriors centre Alex Dunbar is hopeful of having completed the head injury assessment (HIA) protocol in time for the match.
Newcastle's Christopher Harris made his first start for Scotland against Wales at outside centre in the absence of Dunbar.
