Wales and Ospreys captain Alun Wyn Jones will be out until at least the end of April with a shoulder injury.

Jones suffered the injury in Wales' final Six Nations clash of the season against France on Saturday, having to be replaced during the second half in Paris.

The setback will cost the lock his place in the Ospreys side for their European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Stade Francais on April 2.

Jones has also been tipped as a possible captain for Warren Gatland's British & Irish Lions squad on their tour of New Zealand this summer.

That tour gets underway on June 3, giving Jones extra time to recover from the injury, details of which his club and the Wales Rugby Union have not specified.
