Saracens winger Chris Ashton will have his appeal against a 10-week ban heard on February 3.
Ashton was suspended for making contact with the 'eye and/or eye area' of Ulster's Luke Marshall during the Champions Cup match on 16 January.
He had just been recalled to the England squad by new coach Eddie Jones after an 18-month absence but the decision to impose the ban left no choice but to drop him from his squad.
Saracens confirmed earlier this week they intended to appeal against the ban, and have now officially lodged it.
The appeal will be heard in London by an independent appeal committee consisting of Lorne Crerar (Scotland), chairman Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and Roger Morris (Wales).
