Sale Sharks have signed forward Cameron Neild to a four-year contract extension.

A product of the Sale academy, Neild started out as a hooker before switching to blindside flanker.

The 21-year-old made 23 appearances for the Sharks last season and director of rugby Steve Diamond is delighted he has committed his future to the club.

Diamond said: "Cameron is a fantastic player, who has come through the academy and shone last season.

"We're pleased he's chosen to extend his deal at the club, and I have no doubt that he will continue to progress and become one of the building blocks of the team."

Speaking about his new deal, Neild said: "I'm really chuffed to be staying at the club, it's the club I have supported all my life.
