The British and Irish Lions recorded a nervy 13-7 win over the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians in their opening tour match but which players caught the eye?

The Lions trailed 7-3 at half-time in Whangarei but moved in front thanks to Anthony Watson's 54th-minute try. However, they failed to build on that score as the Barbarians fought to the finish.

Half-backs Johnny Sexton and Greig Laidlaw each kicked a penalty while replacement Owen Farrell's converted Watson's try.

The games come thick and fast for the Lions, who return to Auckland for a clash with the Blues at Eden Park on Wednesday.
