Jimmy White suffered a 10-9 loss to Gerard Greene in World Championship qualifying

Jimmy White has fallen at the opening hurdle in his bid to return to the World Snooker Championship for the first time in a decade.
Six times a World Championship runner-up, White suffered an agonising 10-9 loss to World No 65 Gerard Greene in the first round of qualifying this year.
White, who made his last appearance in the first round at the Crucible in 2006, looked set to advance when he led 9-7, but Greene reeled off the final three frames to progress.
Meanwhile, Ng On Yee's hopes of becoming the first female player to qualify for the Crucible were brought to a swift end, as the 2015 women's world champion was defeated 10-1 by Peter Lines.
Ng, a 25-year-old from Hong Kong, has been playing the sport since she was 13 and has even given up her studies to concentrate on her snooker career.
But the 46-year-old Lines was too strong on this occasion and he swept to victory in the first round qualifier.
