Danish teenager recovers from set down

Caroline Wozniacki overcame a horror start to her third-round match at the Sony Ericsson Open to claim a 1-6 6-1 6-4 victory over Maria Kirilenko. Wozniacki, the second seed at the Miami event, was taken apart in the first set, winning just one game as her Russian opponent ran riot. But the Danish teenager immediately regrouped with two breaks in the second set and went on to edge out 32nd seed Kirilenko in a tight decider. Wozniacki's reward is a last 16 meeting with fellow Russian, 22nd seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who beat Francesca Schiavone 7-5 6-3.

Demolished

US Open champion Kim Clijsters demolished Shahar Peer for the loss of only one game to stroll into the fourth round. Belgian Clijsters, who will face fourth seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in her next match, overwhelmed Israeli player Peer 6-0 6-1. Despite Clijsters being the 14th seed and Peer the 17th seed, the gulf in quality was shown in the scoreline and the match statistics. Peer did not have a single chance to break the Clijsters serve, while her opponent had 10 chances, of which she took five, and the match was over inside 51 minutes. "Shahar isn't a player who is going to hit you off the court. She takes the ball very early and doesn't usually make a lot of errors, but I felt I was in control of a lot of the points," Clijsters told the WTA Tour's official website. "I was able to move her from side to side until I felt I could take a couple steps in and go for the winner." Azarenka beat Lucie Safarova 6-4 6-2 to book her date with Clijsters. Wild card Justine Henin was worked a little harder than her compatriot as she beat Dominika Cibulkova 6-4 6-4.
Trouble
"I was in trouble in the beginning of both sets, but I ended up doing what I had to do," said Henin. "Dominika plays with a good rhythm and played very well. She runs a lot, has a very good backhand and is a real fighter - she has a strong personality. It wasn't easy today." Awaiting Henin is Vera Zvonareva, a 6-2 6-3 winner over Sara Errani. Seventh seed Jelena Jankovic beat Elena Vesnina 7-6 (7/3) 6-3 and will now face Australian Sam Stosur, the ninth seed, who beat France's Virginie Razzano 4-6 7-5 6-1.
