Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria has joined Reading on loan until the end of the season to become new manager Jose Gomes' first signing at the Madejski Stadium.
Ejaria has played eight times for Liverpool, and spent the first half of this season on loan at Rangers, under the management of Steven Gerrard.
After securing Ejaria's signature, Gomes told Reading's website: "In Ovie we have signed a player who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, can pass the ball quickly and effectively to make things happen in the final third and who shows a composure which is rare in such a young central midfielder.
"I am really looking forward to working with him at Reading."
Reading are understood to want to add several loan signings to their squad in the January transfer window following Gomes' arrival.
Ejaria, who was part of the England U20 squad that won the World Cup in 2017, will wear the number 18 shirt for the Royals.
The 21-year-old could make his Reading debut in their home match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
