Watch Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers host Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors in Game 4 of the Western Conference semi-finals with our free live stream.
The Atlantic Division heavyweights, seeded two and three in the East respectively, split the opening two games of the series in Toronto before a dominant Game 3 performance by Joel Embiid earned the Sixers a 2-1 advantage.
The Raptors opened the series in dominant fashion with Kawhi Leonard scoring 45 points in an emphatic 108-95 Game 1 win. However, Jimmy Butler's 30 points in Game 2 allowed the Sixers to level the series with a gritty 94-89 road win, ending halt a 14-game losing streak in Toronto in the process.
The series switched to Philadelphia for Game 3 where 33 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks from Embiid led the 76ers to a dominant 116-95 win.
Sunday's Game 4 will now prove pivotal to the outcome of the series as the Raptors cannot afford to fall 3-1 behind.
The Raptors boast the third-best defensive rating of any playoff team, giving up a miserly 99.6 points per 100 possessions. Against the 76ers, the experience of Marc Gasol and physicality of Leonard remain key to Toronto's hopes of shutting down the Sixers' star man Joel Embiid and his playmaking running buddy Ben Simmons.
Injury and illness have prevented Embiid from making his mark in the series until he erupted in Game 3. He came into the series nursing a knee injury and suffered a bout of gastroenteritis that limited him in Game 2. Even so, he played a key role in the Sixers' road victory, playing excellent defense on Gasol and Pascal Siakam.
Another important factor in the series so far has been the play of the reserves. Although the Raptors' roster boasts more depth, the 76ers bench was able to outscore their Raptors counterparts 26-5 in Game 2 thanks to double-digit efforts from James Ennis III and Greg Monroe. Toronto reserves Fred VanVleet, Serge Ibaka and Norman Powell will hope for improved contributions as the series rolls on.
