Commonwealth Games: Laura Trott edges out Elinor Barker to win women's points race

Laura Trott took Commonwealth gold for England after edging out Welsh cyclist Elinor Barker on the last lap of the women's 25km points race.
The double Olympic champion took second place in the final sprint to move level with Barker on 37 points overall, with Trott taking the title on count-back.
Trott's success came despite the fact she has been battling a kidney infection which prevented her from making any kind of mark in the individual pursuit or the scratch race.
Scotland's Katie Archibald ensured that three different home nations were represented on the poidum as she took the bronze medal on 33 points.
Both Trott and Barker lurked towards the top of the standings throughout the race, Trott winning two of the 10 sprints on offer and Barker taking three.
Barker's final sprint victory saw her take the lead with 10 laps remaining but Trott came around her on the final lap to finish ahead in the all-important last sprint.
Trott's win was England's second gold of the day at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott having earlier triumphed in the women's 1,000-metre B2 time-trial.
