Joe Root has backed England to quickly get over their World T20 defeat to a Chris Gayle-inspired West Indies.

England were blitzed by an in-form Gayle as the Jamaican walloped 100 from 48 balls to see his side past their opponents' 182-6 with 11 balls to spare in Mumbai.

But England batsman Root, who top scored for his side with 48, says his team will regroup quickly ahead of their second match, against South Africa, on Friday.
