Sir Ian Botham shares his favourite memories of playing in India

On the eve of the first Test between India and England, Sir Ian Botham rolled back the years to recall memories of tours past and shared one or two stories with Ian Ward.

Former England all-rounder Botham played seven Test matches against India on their own patch and admitted he had fond memories of the experience.

"We had 10,000 people outside the hotel," he recalled, "wanting to touch you or get a glimpse. It really was a mind-blowing experience.

"I remember playing at Eden Gardens and there were 110,000 inside the ground. Across in the gardens there were another 40,000 listening on radios so when there was a wicket you got the cheer in the ground and then the echo outside the ground."
