DAY TWO REPORT | SCORECARD

Watch Athers' review of day two of the day-night Test in the video above as England closed on 29-1, a whopping 413 runs in arrears, after Shaun Marsh's fifth century had lifted Australia to 442-8 declared.

The former England captain says the current one - Joe Root - now has a big day three ahead after sending the hosts into bat at Adelaide Oval and watching them rack up the highest score at the venue in day-night Tests.

Tim Paine (57) played his part while putting on 85 with Marsh for the sixth wicket, which Athers insists is not only great news for him, but also the selectors after they were criticised for handing the 32-year-old a recall.
