ECB president Giles Clarke will be summoned by MPs to answer questions over the suggested "Big Three" takeover of world cricket.

The Culture, Media and Sport select committee will ask Clarke about the recent ICC reforms which saw 52 per cent of revenue from international events go to England, Australia and India.

Clarke's appearance would follow similar discussions with FA chairman Greg Dyke over FIFA corruption, IAAF chief Sebastian Coe on doping in athletics and Chris Kermode on match-fixing in tennis.

No date has been set.

A select committee spokesman said: "The committee has decided to look into the conduct of the ECB in relation to the governance of international cricket, in the context of the other investigations it is undertaking.

"The committee has already looked at football, athletics and tennis, as part of a wider group of investigations into sports governance and, in relation to cricket, the ECB is an obvious choice to call in."

The International Cricket Council decided two years ago, a time when Clarke was ECB chairman, to invest extra power in the world governing body's so-called 'Big Three' countries.
