Marcus Trescothick and Peter Trego both scored centuries as Somerset produced a stirring fightback against Middlesex on day three in Division One of the Specsavers County Championship.
Trailing by 145 runs, Somerset then slipped to 126-4 in their second innings - Harry Podmore (3-66) again impressing, taking his wicket tally for the match to seven - before Trescothick and Trego added 181 for the fifth wicket.
Trescothick (124) fell with little more than 10 overs left in the day; James Harris taking two wickets in two overs to take some of the shine off Somerset's revival.
Trego went through to his century and is still unbeaten on 115 going into the final day with Somerset 348-6, leading by 203 runs.
Rain ruined the second day of Surrey's clash with Yorkshire at The Oval, although there was at least 16.4 overs of play.
Yorkshire took three wickets during that spell, England's David Willey (3-48) adding two more to his personal tally removing Zafar Anasari (40) and ODI team-mate, Jason Roy, for a duck.
Surrey advanced their overnight score from 95-2 to 164-5, with Aaron Finch (52) reaching fifty before falling to Steven Patterson (2-49).
No play was possible due to heavy rain on day three of Warwickshire's match with Hampshire at Edgbaston.
It leaves Warwickshire still 131-3 in their first innings trailing by 400 runs - with the match seemingly heading for a draw.
Adam Wheater earlier hit an unbeaten 204 for Hampshire as they racked up 531 in their first innings.
In Division Two, Worcestershire earned an emphatic 311-run win over Northamptonshire inside three days.
New Zealander Matt Henry took 5-36 to bowl Northamptonshire out for 142 in their second innings after Worcestershire set them 454 to win, declaring on 324-8.
Northants slipped to 62-6 inside 21 overs before Steven Crook (33 off 34 balls) and Sri Lanka's Seekkuge Prasanna (31 off 24) added some gloss to the score.
It wasn't enough to prevent Northants suffering a heavy defeat. Monty Panesar the final wicket to fall, run out.
