With two days until Christmas, England opener Tammy Beaumont gifts us with a batting masterclass

What a difference a week makes. Just ask Tammy Beaumont as our Christmas countdown continues with the England Women’s opener’s two consecutive centuries against Pakistan.

Walking to the crease in the first game of the three one-dayers, Beaumont had scored just 207 runs in 23 ODIs with a top-score of just 44. However, seven days later her place in the side could not have been safer after hitting 342 across the series.

70 in the first match was followed by a maiden ODI century in game two at Worcester as Beaumont's 235-run opening stand with Lauren Winfield helped England up to their highest ODI total, 378-5.

But the 25-year-old Kent star was not done there and hit a blistering 168 not out from 144 balls - the second highest ODI score by an England Woman - at Taunton, as Heather Knight's side completed a series whitewash, becoming the first English woman to register back-to-back ODI tons.

Beaumont was pushed all the way for the No 2 spot in our Christmas list though, Ben Duckett unfortunate to miss out having completed a double at the PCA Awards, winning the Players' Player and Young Player of the Year gongs.
