But, nevertheless, as Smith racked up his 19th Test ton on day one in Ranchi, India tried absolutely everything to get him out, including flooring the Aussie skipper.

Smith was on 97 at the time when he inside-edged Ravindra Jadeja into his pad, with the ball getting stuck.

Before laughing hysterically, umpire Ian Gould ruled it a 'dead ball' meaning no catch could be claimed, though that didn't stop a few inquisitive appeals from the surrounding Indian fielders.
