James Anderson is unlikely to bowl again in Lancashire's Specsavers County Championship clash with Yorkshire and PA Sport are reporting that he is set to have a groin scan on Monday.
The England paceman has not returned to the action since limping off midway through his sixth over on Friday morning.
Lancashire head coach Glen Chapple said after the opening day's play that Anderson, England's all-time leading wicket-taker, would be assessed on Saturday.
And it has now emerged that the 34-year-old is unlikely to bowl again in the match and will have a scan on Monday.
Anderson had been scheduled to play in Lancashire's next four matches in Division One of the County Championship, before his expected involvement in England's Test summer, which begins against South Africa at Lord's on July 6.
