Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League after suffering a stress fracture while on tour in South Africa.
Starc suffered a tibial bone stress fracture in his right leg ahead the fourth Test against the Proteas, which began on Friday at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
Test debutant Chadd Sayers replaced Starc in the Australian bowling attack as the tourists looked to salvage to a 2-2 series draw.
Australia are also without Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft, who were banned in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal which overshadowed the third Test in Cape Town.
Cricket Australia confirmed Starc will return to Australia after the series in order to undergo further assessment on his injury.
The 28-year-old was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for £1.28m at the IPL auction in January but will now miss the upcoming tournament in India.
