England's bowlers bounced back from their defeat in Edinburgh to bowl out a new-look Australia side for just 214 as the hosts won the first ODI at the Oval.

Click play on the video at the top of the page to watch how England survived a couple of wobbles with the bat to record a three-wicket win.

Spin twins Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid shared five wickets with Liam Plunkett also chipping in with three as Australia stuttered to 214 before the final wicket went down from the last ball of the 47th over.

It could have been worse for Tim Paine's side after they were reduced to 90-5 but Glenn Maxwell hit 62 in a stand of 84 with Ashton Agar to give the total some respectability.

When England slipped to 38-3, Australia may have dared to dream that it may even be a winning total. However, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan put on 115 for the fourth wicket to put England in complete control.

They suffered a second mini collapse as Morgan, Root and Jos Buttler were dismissed within the space of four overs but David Willey, with support from Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett, ensured England got over the line with plenty of time to spare.
