England pace bowler Jake Ball has signed a new three-year contract with Nottinghamshire.

Ball has made a promising start to the season, taking 27 Specsavers County Championship wickets and another 14 in Royal London One-Day Cup cricket.

That form has led to him being recalled to the England squad for the current five-match one-day series against Australia, which Eoin Morgan's side lead 2-0 after Saturday's victory at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

"Being Notts born and bred, I'm delighted to sign up to my home county for three more years," Ball told the county's official website.

"It was fantastic to be involved in the success we had last year and I hope we can have more as a club in the seasons to come."

Ball played a key role as the Outlaws won both the Royal London One-Day Cup and T20 Blast last summer, as well as promotion back to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship, with head coach Peter Moores appreciative of his achievements.

"It's great news that Jake has committed his future to the club," said Moores.
