Ryan McLaren and Yasir Arafat shared nine wickets as Kent bowled out Surrey for 192 to claim a 90-run victory in Monday's FP Trophy fixture at the Brit Oval. McLaren took 5-46 and Arafat 4-35 to ensure Surrey fell well short of a victory target of 283, despite Jon Batty's battling 63. Earlier, half-centuries from Justin Kemp, Geraint Jones and Azhar Mahmood allowed Kent to recover from 52-4 to reach 282-7 from their 50 overs. Jones (86) shared stands of 92 with Kemp (63) for the fifth wicket and 93 with Mahmood (62) for the sixth wicket to lead the visitors to a formidable target. Left-arm seamer Pedro Collins was the pick of the home attack with 4-46.
