NatWest T20 Blast: Alex Hales century helps Nottinghamshire chase down 223

An explosive century from Alex Hales led Nottinghamshire to a thrilling victory over Yorkshire in their NatWest T20 Blast meeting at Trent Bridge.
Hales scored 101, his first format hundred for the county, as Notts completed a record run-chase to defeat the Vikings by five wickets with five balls remaining.
Yorkshire had posted 223-5, with Adam Lyth scoring 59, while, amidst the carnage, Samit Patel maintained creditable figures of 3-29 but there was little joy for any of the other bowlers to celebrate as Yorkshire plundered 10 sixes in their 20 overs.
Requiring more than 11 runs an over, Notts got off to a flying start with Hales and Riki Wessels putting on 87 in the first 5.4 overs before Wessels fell to Azeem Rafiq for 34.
Hales reached his hundred from 45 balls, heaving four huge sixes and 14 fours, before falling shortly afterwards, leaving it Steven Mullaney to complete an incredible win.
Notts had never successfully chased anything higher than 207 before but thanks to Hales' magnificent effort they accomplished the feat with time to spare.
A sensational debut innings from Adam Hose lifted Birmingham Bears to a five-wicket victory over Lancashire Lightning at Edgbaston.
The Lightning amassed 174-8 thanks mainly to Jos Buttler whose unbeaten 80 (43 balls, six fours, two sixes) was the only contribution beyond 20. Measured at first, as wickets fell around him, Buttler paced his innings perfectly, climbing into the bowling late on.
But then Hose, making his debut after moving from Somerset on a three-year deal last week, smashed a dazzling, T20-best 76 from 43 balls with seven fours and five sixes to put his side on course for victory. And after he perished, Grant Elliott saw his side over the line with just two balls to spare with an shrewd unbeaten 45 (33 balls, five fours).
New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry produced an impressive performance as Derbyshire secured a seven-wicket win over Leicestershire.
Henry took 3-18 in his four overs and Imran Tahir chipped in with 2-20 as the Foxes were restricted to 104-9.
Although Dieter Klein struck twice in the third over of the Falcons' reply, Wayne Madsen (49) and Alex Hughes (36) shared an unbroken stand to steer their side home with 37 balls to spare.
It was a tale of two centuries as Worcestershire Rapids beat Durham Jets by eight wickets in a high-scoring affair at New Road.
Just four wickets fell in the match as Durham posted a seemingly commanding total of 201-2 thanks to Paul Collingwood's unbeaten 108 from 60 balls.
However, the former England man was outdone by England Lions batsman Joe Clarke, who struck a blistering 124 from just 53 deliveries as the Rapids remarkably knocked off the runs with 11 balls to spare.
In the South Group, Corey Anderson propelled Somerset to a 32-run Duckworth-Lewis victory over Sussex in a rain-affected contest at Taunton.
Put in to bat in a match reduced to eight overs-a-side, Somerset posted a competitive 102-3 courtesy of New Zealander Anderson's 41 from 17 balls - an knock that included four fours and three sixes.
Required to chase down a revised target of 104 to win, Sussex failed to recover from the loss of early wickets and came up short on 71-4, despite an unbeaten 42 from Stiaan van Zyl.
Half-centuries by Jacques Rudolph and Aneurin Donald coupled with a frugal two-over stint of one for 12 by Craig Meschede helped Glamorgan extend their lead in the South Group with an emphatic 25-run win over Kent.
Rudolph's knock of 77 not out from 52 balls saw Glamorgan post 199-2 on an excellent Canterbury pitch - a pursuit that proved too tough for the Spitfires despite Joe Denly's 68 as the hosts fell well short on 174-4.
