Lancashire all-rounder Steven Croft has signed a new contract with the club.

Croft captained the team for much of last season following an injury to skipper Tom Smith, but the length of his new contract has not been made public.

The 31-year-old had a superb season, winning the NatWest T20 Blast and guiding the team to promotion to Division One in the County Championship.

Croft played in every NatWest T20 Blast game for Lightning and his 118 appearances in the competition is a record. He was the team's top run scorer in the T20, scoring 478 runs at an average of 43.

"He has led by example and his performances have been outstanding, especially in the NatWest T20 Blast."

Croft said: "I'm very proud and delighted to have signed a new contract with the club I love.
