Liam Livingstone and Saqib Mahmood pen new Lancashire contracts

Lancashire County Cricket club pair Liam Livingstone and Saqib Mahmood have both signed new deals to keep them at Old Trafford, the club confirmed on Friday.
Batsman Livingstone, 23, has penned a new two-year contract while 19-year-old right-arm fast-medium bowler Mahmood has signed a one-year extension through to 2018.
Both players are products of the Lancashire academy having broken through during the 2016 season, making encouraging First Class debuts as well as England Lions appearances against Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A.
"We're delighted Liam and Saqib have signed new deals with the Club," said Lancashire head coach Glen Chapple.
"They are two highly promising young cricketers who have made real progress over the last 12 months.
"Both players are going to form an important part of the side in the next few years, in all formats. We are very excited to see how their development continues in the coming years."
Livingstone broke onto the scene with his debut in the opening game of the 2016 season from which he never looked back, hitting an average of over 50 and two centuries throughout the campaign including a knock of 108 not out against Somerset.
"Playing cricket for Lancashire is all I've ever wanted to do and I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with the Club," said Livingstone.
"I have supported the Club ever since I can remember and I hope to win more silverware with the Red Rose in the years to come."
Mahmood's First Class debut came in the Specsavers County Championship clash against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl in 2016, with the young bowler also impressing in white-ball cricket for Lancashire Lightning, taking eight wickets in the Royal London One-Day Cup and six in the NatWest T20 Blast.
"I'm thrilled to sign a new deal with the Club. Lancashire have shown great faith in me throughout my development and have been crucial to my progress as a cricketer," added Mahmood.
"It's an exciting time to be a part of the squad and hopefully I can play an important role in the coming years."
