Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Cameron Bancroft will return to Gloucestershire next summer.
Bancroft, 23, spent the first two months of the 2016 season with Gloucestershire but will be back for a full campaign next year.
He said: "Last year was fantastic to be a part of this great club. I can't wait to get back over and score runs for the team and hope to continue to grow and move our way up in Division Two.
"I had an awesome time with my team-mates and I'm itching to play some good cricket for the club."
Gloucestershire chief executive Will Brown said: "We are delighted to have signed Cameron for the 2017 season and we are looking forward to seeing him return to play in a Gloucestershire shirt."
Fast bowler Liam Norwell meanwhile has signed a contract extension which keeps him at the club until 2018.
