Glamorgan have signed Middlesex seamer Harry Podmore on loan for the first six County Championship games of 2016.

Podmore will join the Welsh county on April 6 and be available for two months in four-day cricket before rejoining Middlesex for the limited overs portion of the season.

The 21-year-old has played in 18 matches for Middlesex since his debut in June 2014, all of them coming in one-day and Twenty20 formats.

Podmore told the county's website: "I am really looking forward to joining Glamorgan for the opening two months of the season and am extremely grateful to both parties for giving me this great opportunity to help develop my career.

"The current strength of the Middlesex seam attack has made it difficult for me to break into the County Championship side.

"With limited opportunities available to play red ball cricket here, this is an ideal way for me to not only gain invaluable experience in this format of the game, but also to hopefully help Glamorgan get off to a good start in their own Championship campaign."
