Northamptonshire have signed Sri Lanka all-rounder Seekkuge Prasanna for their T20 Blast campaign.

The 30-year-old leg-spinner will be available for the county's opening 20-over fixture, against Leicestershire at Grace Road on May 20, and his selection for other competitions will depend on the availability of the club's main overseas player, Rory Kleinveldt.

"We're delighted to have completed the signing of Seekkuge for the coming season," Northamptonshire head coach David Ripley said.

"He's an exciting cricketer with plenty of experience and good stats, and having him for the whole NatWest T20 Blast campaign is obviously a big plus for us. There's a chance we may also see him in other formats during the summer."

Seekkuge has represented his country in one Test match, 25 one-day Internationals and six T20 international games to date after making his mark in the Sri Lankan Army side back in 2006.
