England's Stuart Broad sets bowling return date ahead of Ashes tour

England fast bowler Stuart Broad has revealed he will return to the nets to practice bowling on October 10 ahead of England's Ashes tour in Australia.
Broad sustained a heel injury while playing against the Windies at Lords in August and after precautionary scans showed there was no serious injury, it was decided he would not play any competitive cricket until the Ashes in November.
Speaking ahead of England's second of five one-day internationals against the Windies, Broad spoke positively about his recovery.
"I had a scan on my heel last week and got some pretty good news. I have a bit of bone bruising but a couple of weeks off the impact of fast bowling and that will heal quite nicely," Broad told Sky Sports News HQ.
"I'm back to bowling on October 10, I think, in a net outdoors at Loughborough University."
When asked about whether he would be ready for the Ashes: "Definitely. We have a long time in Australia before we start that first Ashes test.
"So it's very much getting the rest of the body used to bowling again before we get on the plane.
"We aren't going to get a lot of fitness work done in England but that will be built up in Australia."
Broad misses out but you can watch the rest of the England team play the Windies in the rest of the one-day series, live on Sky Sports.
