Spinner would love to win first cap at the Oval

Sunil Narine admitted he was as surprsied as anyone else at being called into the West Indies squad ahead of the final Test against England at the Kia Oval. The spinner was drafted into the squad after paceman Kemar Roach returned to the Caribbean with a shin injury. The 24-year-old has only played eight one-day internationals to date but was a revelation for Kolkata in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, where he was named the player of the tournament. And while he is in the running for a Test debut Narine is likely to only take part in the limited-overs part of the tour - although that is not stopping him dreaming of pulling on the whites. "I wasn't expecting this at all. I came back home and I was starting to look ahead to the limited-overs series," he said. "When I got the call for the Test series...words can't explain how I felt at that moment. The dream was always to play Test cricket and I'm halfway there. "I have not played a lot in England, so it will be vital that I get acclimatised as quickly as possible. "I don't want to get ahead of myself and make any predictions. I just want to prepare well, mentally and physically, and give my all for West Indies."
