Batsman Peter Handscomb and fast bowling all-rounder John Hastings have been called into the Australia one-day squad for the remaining three matches of the series against England.

They come in to replace Shane Watson and Nathan Coulter-Nile, who have picked up injuries.

The duo join batsman Aaron Finch, who was called up on Saturday after opener David Warner suffered a fractured thumb.

24-year-old Handscomb, who can also keep wicket, is uncapped, represents Victoria in Australia, and has been playing for Gloucestershire this summer.

Hastings, 29, is currently with Durham. The seamer earned a Test cap in 2012 and has played in 11 one-day internationals and three T20 internationals.

Australia head coach Darren Lehmann said: "We're disappointed to lose players of the calibre of David Warner, Shane Watson and Nathan Coulter-Nile but we have quality replacements on hand in Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb and John Hastings.

"We looked at all options, including the possibility of flying in cover from Australia, but the fact all three of the players we have drafted in are already in England means they can join us at short notice, be acclimatised to conditions, and be available for selection immediately, if required.
