After Mitchell Johnson reached 300 Test wickets during the third Ashest Test, Ricky Ponting described it as a wonderful achievement.

Mitchell Johnson has passed the 300-wicket mark in Test cricket – and Ricky Ponting couldn’t have been more fulsome in his praise.

In his latest Sky Sports video blog, Ponting discussed Johnson’s milestone – something only Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Dennis Lillee and Brett Lee have previously reached – and revealed what the lethal left-armer was like to captain.

The former Australia skipper also analysed how much longer Johnson, 33, can carry on at the top level as well as batting on the Edgbaston pitch – something the Baggy Greens have made extremely heavy weather of in the third Investec Ashes Test!
