Shannon Gabriel (2-58) picked up the early wickets of Jason Roy (13), lbw, and Joe Root bowled for four as England initially struggled having been put in to bat.
Sam Billings (52) and Morgan rebuilt the innings though, the opener going to his second ODI fifty before falling to Ashley Nurse (2-57).
Nurse also removed Jos Buttler (14) courtesy of a superb one-handed grab by Jonathan Carter at slip but Morgan and Ben Stokes put England in a strong position as the innings reached its climax.
The 100 partnership came up in the 44th over but Stokes (55) holed out in the following over, leaving Morgan (107) and Moeen Ali (31 from 22 balls) to take England up to 296-6 from their 50 overs..
A serene start to the West Indies chase came to an abrupt end as England picked up three wickets in as many overs to leave the hosts 39-3 after 12.
Shai Hope then fell to Adil Rashid before a partnership of 82 between Jason Mohammed and Carter left the match in the balance.
However, Plunkett returned to dismiss Carter (52) and Jason Holder (4) in successive overs to put England back in control before Steve Finn ran out Mohammed (72).
After Woakes (4-47) removed Brathwaite and Nurse, it fell to Plunkett to wrap things up with the wicket of Gabriel in the 48th over - the West Indies 251 all out.
