Regular skipper rested, Sehwag skips first three ODIs
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been rested for the five-match one-day series against the West Indies, with Virender Sehwag taking over.
Big-hitting opener Sehwag will step in to take charge as India host the Caribbean side for five ODIs, which start on Tuesday after the conclusion of the on-going Test series.
Dhoni has been given a break by the selectors and Sachin Tendulkar, who on Friday fell six runs short of his 100th international century, was also left out of the squad for just the first three contests.
Left-handed all-round Yuvraj Singh is injured and will also miss out on the series - after he sat out the third and final Test against the Windies.
Seamers Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar return, but there remains no place for spinner Harbhajan Singh. Parthiv Patel will don the wicketkeeper's gloves in Dhoni's absence.
